So I've been doing a bit of sightseeing of Russian dating sites. So far I'm not impressed by what I've seen (well apart from the ladies in thongs, which is great!).

But if you do some reading about Chnlove then you get the familiar stories - fake ladies, scam ladies, in fact it's almost exactly the same as what you can read about with Russian ladies.

With time you'll get to spot the scammers anyway - I find that none of them are particularly imaginative and most of them copy each other's money making schemes.

Beware of small free dating sites

There are tens of thousands of dating sites on the Internet. Most have very few members and lack the critical mass of members you need to become as wildly successful as Match.com or Plenty Of Fish.

One such tiny Asian dating site is Japanese Dating Online. The site has just over 2000 members. Although 2100 members might sound a lot, you need to bear in mind that many will be scammers, many will not have logged in for a long time and that's before you've even found someone in your right age group, looks etc

If you want to find a Japanese partner then I can recommend Japan Cupid instead of Japanese Dating Online. Japan Cupid is run by Cupid Media who have a solid reputation for running dating sites.

There are just so many Internet scammers around these days that I would not trust any free dating sites. Safe dating!

Introduction agency or dating website?

When looking for an asian wife online, there are basically two options:

The first option is to find an introduction agency to help you with your search for an asian wife. I've had a look at some of the online introduction agencies. As far as my searching goes, I managed to find introduction agencies that can help with your search for a Thai wife or a Japanese wife. I'm not sure if there are any introduction agencies for Chinese ladies or Filipino ladies. I'll have to do some more searching.

The Thai introduction agencies look quite professional. Most of them are run by British or American expats. I find that reassuring. I'm not yet sure if I want a Thai wife though. I'll have to think things over.

The alternative to introduction agencies is to simply sign up to one of the dating websites and go it alone. I might try this approach for now. I've read stories of scam ladies so I'll be careful. Thankfully I've been on the Internet for years, so I'm wise to a lot of the usual scams that go on.

I'm not sure how you choose a good online dating site - there are so many to choose from!

Actually there is a third option - the escorted tour of an asian country. I'm not sure if this is the right approach for me, as I'm nervous about meeting people in person - I'd rather get to know them online a bit first. Also some of these escorted tours are quite expensive. At the end of the day do you really know if the ladies they're introducing you to at these events are really available for marriage and looking for Western husbands? What if they've just been paid a few dollars to come along for the night to look pretty and talk to guys?
